The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham is an aquarium located in Brindleyplace, Birmingham, England, featuring over 60 displays of freshwater and marine life. A highlight of the centre is its 1,000,000-litre ocean tank, which houses giant green sea turtles, blacktip reef sharks, and tropical reef fish, all viewable through the UK's only fully transparent 360-degree underwater tunnel.
Visitors can also experience the Penguin Ice Adventure, home to a colony of Gentoo penguins. This exhibit offers a glimpse into the Antarctic landscape, allowing guests to observe the penguins' playful antics both above and below the freezing waters.
In March 2020, the centre became home to a pair of northern sea otters, Ozzy and Ola, the first and only sea otters to be displayed in the UK. These rescued otters from Alaska have become a significant attraction, offering visitors a unique opportunity to learn about marine mammal rescue efforts.
The centre also features a state-of-the-art marine rescue facility, serving as both a working rescue centre and an interactive exhibit where visitors can learn about marine conservation and the rehabilitation of sea creatures.
For an immersive experience, the centre offers a Virtual Reality (VR) experience, Jelly Invaders exhibit, and various VIP experiences, including opportunities to feed sharks and penguins.
Overall, the National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham provides an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages, highlighting the wonders of marine life and the importance of conservation efforts.
